Tinderbox is delighted to welcome Patrick J O’Reilly as the Esmée Fairbairn Writer in Attachment 2010- 2011. The attachment offers a development fund, half a commission fee to secure some time for writing and a year’s dramaturgical support and mentoring from Tinderbox Theatre Company.

Being a very talented performer and director as well we are very pleased to be able to offer Patrick this opportunity to focus on his writing for a year. In 2009 he won the BBC Radio Drama Stewart Parker Award. Patrick wrote Candide for Bruiser Theatre Company and Plasticine Tina for Replay Productions.

Patrick trained at Northbrook College, Brighton in Physical Theatre and currently lives in Belfast.

Tinderbox Dramaturg Hanna Slattne said about the appointment “Patrick was one of three writers who took part in this summer’s Writers Lab and we are very excited about building on that experience and to continue our collaboration with Patrick”
