Tinderbox Theatre Company is delighted by the nominations of both Jimmy McAleavey and David Ireland for the prestigious Stewart Parker Awards, to be held in the Abbey Theatre Dublin on 23rd March 2011.
Tinderbox produced their plays concurrently in the spring of 2010, with Everything Between Us by David Ireland opening in Philadelphia on 11th March, and Jimmy McAleavey’s The Sign of the Whale having its premier one night later in the Baby Grand Studio in Belfast.
Everything Between Us subsequently appeared in Tinderbox’s award winning True North season at the Crescent Arts Centre, and has now been booked to play at the Tron Theatre, Glasgow in May.
Tinderbox has previously produced four Stewart Parker Award winning plays – by Daragh Carville, Joseph Crilly, Tim Loane and Lisa McGee – but has never before had two playwrights short listed in the same year.
