New Year for Turning the Page
Posted on 12 January 2012 in Outreach
The second stage of Tinderbox’s innovative community writing exchange programme, Turning the Page, starts in February. Groups from East Belfast Mission will be taking part in writing workshops to create their own monologues which will be exchanged and performed by their partner groups.
Turning the Page’s first participants Armagh Good Relations and Women’s Information NI performed their readings in the summer of last year. Six women with little or no experience in creative writing produced six new monologues based on their personal experiences and issues which they felt passionately about.
This year a male group and a female group organised through East Belfast Mission, will develop their monologues and exchange and perform each other’s work to an invited audience.
