Irish Times nomination for Ciaran Bagnall

Ciaran Bagnall has been nominated for an Irish Times Theatre Award for his lighting design on Tinderbox’s Guidelines for a Long and Happy Life.  The show, written by Paul Kennedy and staged by Tinderbox in a vast ex industrial space in East Belfast, was a popular and critical hit in the 2011 Ulster Bank Belfast Festival at Queens.

Ciaran’s other recent work includes Slattery’s Sago Saga and Swampoodle for The Performance Corporation; Luca and the Sunshine, which appeared in the 2011 Dublin Fringe Festival; Bog Boy for Tall Tales Theatre Company at the Irish Arts Centre, New York; Secret Thoughts for the Octagon Theatre, Bolton; Shoot the Crow for Prime Cut Productions and The Little Prince for the Lyric Theatre in Belfast, and Treemonisha for Pegasus Opera.

Ciaran has been a key collaborator on Tinderbox’s major projects since 2008, including the OMAC Studio Season, the True North trilogy and the Total Theatre ensemble.  His Tinderbox production credits include The Sign of the Whale and The Virgin Father by Jimmy McAleavey, Everything Between Us by David Ireland, Sleep Eat Party by Damian Gorman and Bruised by Stacey Gregg, Rosemary Jenkinson, Maria Connolly and Maria McManus.
