The prestigious prize has an international reach with Spallen now joining the ranks of previous winners such as award-winning playwright and screenwriter Debbie Tucker Green (Stoning Mary, Truth and Reconciliation) and critically acclaimed Helen Edmundson (Blood and Light, Anna Karenina).
