Fireworks 2010 application now open

If you are a young writer aged 16 to 25 interested in writing for the stage Fireworks might be something for you. Fireworks is a 5 months long specialised program to take you through the process of writing a play from idea through redrafting and into the rehearsal room.

The applications deadline for this year is the 3rd of May.

Fireworks Writers to write for BBC Blast

Three young writers who went through The Fireworks Young Writers Programme at Tinderbox in the past two years will be writing a new online drama for young people with BBC Blast. Michael Shannon, Samantha Heaney and Leo McGann will be writing 2 episodes each for the new pilot series which will be performed by young actors from the Tinderbox Revolutions project and broadcast online later in the spring.

360° Scriptwriting Festival 2010

is following up on the successful festival in 2009 with another 4 day festival of script writing skills workshops and industry talks in conjunction with the Tony Doyle Bursary 2010.
The workshops will take place between the 20th and 23rd of January in Belfast.

Originally from Omagh, Conor has been based in Manchester for the last few years and is excited to be back in Northern Ireland working with Tinderbox.
