Weirdwolf by Jimmy McAleavey

A rehearsed reading

Joe’s life is unravelling in spectacular fashion.  It’s the eve of his young company’s biggest business deal – and he’s turning into a werewolf.  With the clock ticking and his world crashing down around him he begins a desperate quest to find out why.  Weirdwolf is a highly original comic allegory teeming with surreal encounters and fantastical characters.

Jimmy McAleavey has written several plays for radio, including The Ballad of Shane O’Neill, and is currently working on Moonmen, for BBC Radio 3.  This is his first play for stage.

Star-Struck by Rosemary Jenkinson

A rehearsed reading

Star-struck is a darkly contemporary story, laced with the acid humour of characters fighting for their lives on the fringes of society. Love, addiction, celebrity and jealousy shape the world of Kate and Fun-Lover, forcing them together and apart as they try to keep afloat.

Rosemary Jenkinson was presented with the Stewart Parker Radio Drama Award at the Abbey Theatre in Dublin this year. Her book of short stories, Contemporary Problems Nos 53 & 54 is published by Lagan Press.
