Betty and Barney have lived their sheltered life joined at the hip… literally! Finally set free and equipped with all the money in the world they are left to fend for themselves in a whirlwind of voyeuristic transactions and instant acquaintances. Can they survive separately yet stay together?

A tender and raw new play by James Johnson about the slippery chance between finding your feet and going into free fall.

Tinderbox is proud to present Choking The Butterfly in a small scale studio production designed to showcase exciting new writing talent in Northern Ireland. James Johnston was a notable success in Tinderbox’s 2007 Fireworks Young Writers Programme, when his short play Imago was presented at the Baby Grand, Belfast.
