Play for Social Change

We collaborate with communities to create and deliver creative participation projects.

We engage participants in authentic creative experiences where they can use creativity to reflect and connect.

We deliver workshops for communities inspired by our theatre projects and our methodology. We have a focus on creative liberation, creative therapy and expression.

Our Artistic Director is qualified in Creative Arts Therapy, thus we can fully embed creative therapies into our work.

  • Workshop programme: The Half Light Project, at the Duncairn

A creative response to personal trauma.

The Half Light installation was a community conversation and creative response to trauma, inspired by Tinderbox Theatre Company’s production ‘Birds of Passage in the Half Light’ by Kat Woods.

This simple string installation was decorated with origami birds, with messages of empowerment inscribed within them. The installation itself was the result of a series of creative therapy workshops facilitated by Tinderbox to women’s groups across Belfast.

The Half Light occupied the staircase at the Duncairn Arts Centre for a week in September 2022.
